Here we go again folks! The 3rd
annual Rawlins Brownbag is slated for the second Saturday of June
(as is the case every year). We have dropped the start time back by
one hour this year to allow out-of-town cachers a little extra
driving time. The basic activities will be the same as in the past,
meet and greet, Brownbag challenge, lunch, raffles and door prizes
and an opportunity to get together as a group and discuss our
hobby. We will supply Peggy's green chili, cake and several
varieties of pop and bottled water. You bring your own lunch and we
will take a break from 1:00 to 2:00 in order to eat.
This event will be held once again at
the Washington Park pavillion as it has the previous times but this
time, we have electricity! With electricity onsite we will be able
to do those things that require power such as roasters, laptops,
lights, music, etc. Maybe this year I won't be running around like
a fool trying to find an alternative to power.We hope you will be
able to attend. Please post as to your intention, one way or the
other so we can get a better estimate of the number of people to
plan for. We have placed five new caches which will not be
published until the day of the event to give an attendee of the
event a chance at FTF.
The KOA campground here in Rawlins
has once again agreed to give a 10% discount to any out-of-town
geocachers who are attending the Brownbag. Simply let them know
when you check in or when you make your reservation and they will
give you the discount. Below is the information pertaining to the
KOA campground for your assistance. There are spots for campers and
motorhomes as well as tents and they even have several cabins
available.
