A good overview of the former UTC rocket manufacturing plant.
UTC - Pratt & Whitney was a huge center of rocket motor production and testing. Familiar products were TITAN, MINUTEMAN, TOMAHAWK, and D-5 TRIDENT (submarine launched}. Every shuttle launch owed thanks to the BSM (booster separation motor) that blasted the huge boosters away from the shuttle after they had done their job.
A major setback happened when a 600 gallon propellant mixer exploded. This along with economic factors prompted the decision to close the plant.
What you see there now are a few buildings still in use and a lot of blank concrete pads. I miss it deeply, I used to work there.
The cache container is marked with a rocket and "AERO" standing for Aerospace Employees Recreation Organization. Small, but enough room for small items.
There is a wide safe pull-over area near the cache.
