Geocache Description:

Join others in the local community in a grand effort to clean up the parks in Crystal Lake. What a great way to celebrate Earth Day!




This CITO event is being held in conjunction with the larger "Crystal Lake Community Clean Up" sponsored by the Crystal Lake Park District and the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce.

When:

Saturday April 19, 2008 from 8:30 am to 12 noon

Meet at 8:30 a.m. for coffee, donuts, gloves, bags, and assignments.

Return for lunch (hot dogs, noodle dishes) provided by the Crystal Lake Park District and the Chamber of Commerce.

Then spend the rest of the day caching in McHenry County. Good times!

Where:
Meet at the Chamber of Commerce Building in McCormick Park on Route 14 at Florence Street. See posted coordinates.

From there you will go to one of two sites assigned to GONIL:

Lippold Park - a sprawling 310 acre park with walking paths and wooded sections surrounding athletic fields.

Cress Creek - A quarter-mile wooded path along a gurgling creek
Enter the path at N42° 13.375 W88° 20.340


From those sites, you will make your way back to McCormick Park for lunch!

How to Prepare:

Wear durable footwear and long pants. Bring your own work gloves. The park district will supply heavy duty garbage bags and "surgical" gloves (latex free).
