Geocache Description:

WWFM III is the third Worldwide Flash Mob event, a simultaneous collection of fifteen-minute events at different spots on the earth set to happen at 11 am MST on May 10th, 2008. (Currently over 165 events worldwide) This will be the first WWFM in the State of Colorado

Summary: The Basic Idea

A "Flash Mob" Gathering of Geocachers. Only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Please BYOP! (Bring your own pen)

The World Wide Flash Mob Event: Dozens of events all around the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies) to the geocaching.

A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief period of time, then quickly disperse.

Update 4/30/08 - The organizers of this event have decided to go with a Hawaiian Theme. (Since I was able to purchase Leis at a discount) Dress in your best Hawaiian clothing.

The Plan

At exactly 11:00am (as determined by the GPS clock) we will place a can full of nice swag at the coordinates . At this point, all geocachers will converge, seeming to come out of "nowhere". (grin)

One volunteer will hand out "log sheets" and numbered tickets for a first to find drawing. Participants will tear the ticket in half and deposit in a marked container for a random drawing. Participants will sign the log sheets (which will later become a log book), to qualify for attendance and drop them in a designated collection box. Bring a pen. Participants may trade swag via the ammo can at any time. We encourage you to bring nice swag to trade. As with any cache, I as the cache owner will provide the initial collection of items.

If any muggles are curious about the event we will have a volunteer hand out fliers that explain geocaching.

10:45 - 10:59 AM: Wait patiently in your vehicles or stroll around the area.

11:00 - event container placed on the ground signaling the start of the event. We will be on the street side of the building.

11:03: event "meal".

11:06: Mass Hula dance 9Just Added

11:10: we will take a group photo.

11:14: we will draw tickets for winner for the FTF.JUST ADDED - The FTF winner's ticket will be returned to the drawing container and another number will be drawn for ..... a UNACTIVATED OFFICIAL WWFM III geocoin. Picture is here: (visit link)

11:15: Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area and meet elsewhere if desired. As in any cache that will be archived and properly removed, all remining items in the ammo can become the property of the cache owner and will be used as trade items in other caches in the future.

I'm sure there will be several muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of the fun!)
