A traditional cache emplaced in gamelands.
In the comforting days of bi-polarity where the only thing we had to worry about was thermo-nuclear destruction of the world, Army Special Forces Soldiers routinely placed caches like these the world over in preparation for combat against Soviet aggression. This was done before the wide use of GPS; caches were emplaced with the intent to both conceal them from the unknowing and to make it easy for men behind enemy lines to recover the contents. This cache has military-related items for its initial load. Please maintain the theme.
This cache is on gamelands in Scotland County near the Hoke County line. You are looking for an ammo can concealed by pine straw near a snapped off tree trunk. The heavy overhead cover may interrupt GPS signals, so both in the spirit of the find and of the cache’s lineage, the following information is provided: cross over the logs, look to the left as you walk down the trail for the broken tree. You may have to contend with some brush, but it's not too bad. “Shooter’s Choice” for FTF: A Soviet cap badge or an unactivated FTF Geocoin.
This cache is on gamelands, wear orange during hunting season.
FTF = VW Dave
