Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches set amongst the Rodings. Collect all six in the series to get the info for a bonus cache.

The Rodings

This is one of a series of caches that will enable you to visit six of the eight Roding’s. Each cache contains a letter/value pair (e.g. Z = 8) that will enable you to find a bonus cache. The remaining two Beauchamp & Aythorpe can already be visited by doing existing caches GCVCYQ and GCRYP3

Abbess Roding

Abbess Roding is a small village. A number of the properties here have evidence of moats. The parking spot is outside St Edmund’s Church, have a look around before you go hunting the cache. There are some interesting monuments in the church, there is a timer light switch opposite the entrance by the locked door.

The cache

You’re looking for a clip lock style plastic box. It is located on the public footpath. Make sure you push it right back in it’s niche once you’re done so it isn’t discovered or noticed by those who should see such things. You may benefit in having an enthusiastic young person with you!

Once you’ve done this cache, you can follow the footpaths to White Roding where you will find another cache in this series.

Initial cache contained a variety of party related goodies. You don’t need to wander far from the path to get the cache
