Uncle's Memorial Cache Traditional Cache
OReviewer: As there's been no response to my earlier post, I'm archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Located in the wooded section of Memorial Park in the town of Oradell. The cache is pretty much located in the thick of the woods. During the late Spring, Summer and early Fall months the vegetation will be significant.
Ah, my very first cache placement! :)
Memorial Park is very nice with several baseball and soccer fields in addition to tennis courts and a children's playpen area. My little brother and I used to play in the park when we were kids so I'm dedicating this cache to him (aka: Uncle).
When you arrive, there is no parking lot, however, the BEST place to park is somewhere along Prospect Ave.
The general area of Memorial park is open every day from dawn until dusk. The tennis courts are lit and I believe are open until around 9 or 10pm.
During the winter, there are two small ponds which are used for ice-skating. Unfortunately, the mild winters have not made it possible to ice-skate outdoors. I don't know of any other outdoor public rink in the area. It is pretty unique.
The cache is one of those "official" tupperware containers (the larger variety). The original contents include:
