Geocache Description:

Situated in a large, hidden fan palm oasis nestled in the Santa Rosa Mountains (elevation 2300').

The pretty oasis is accessible by the Bear Creek Ridge Trail. Nine miles, 2400 feet gain roundtrip from La Quinta Cove trailhead. I placed this on a lovely Easter morning, with the desert in a riotous spring bloom of colorful wildflowers. Cache is a small tin, containing log, note, pen, pins and a geocoin. It is in plain sight when viewed at the right angle. Note: Please do watch for loose cactus spines when retrieving the cache. An unintended hazard, but the placement seemed best here.
