Geocache Description:

Part of the Chorley Challenge - a cache in every Chorley village!

Charnock Richard

Charnock Richard is situated on the main A49 leading from Preston to Wigan, this township was given the Christian name of its owner in the early 13th Century to distinguish it from Heath Charnock. The manor house, Park Hall, dates from the 10th Century and is now a leisure centre which holds a large Antiques Fair every Sunday. Camelot theme park is based on Arthurian legend and is next to Park Hall.

The Delph

This used to be a free fishing spot, but like most places, it's been snaffled up by an angling club. It's on a byway, but you'll do well to do this cache as a driveby... don't attempt it!

The cache is just after the Delph, where the views open out over the usual summits.
