Geocache Description:

This is Clackamas Geocaching Association’s (CGA) 1st CITO EVENT. Come on out and help us make it a big success!

CITO CITO CITO CITO CITO CITO CITO CITO

This is Clackamas Geocaching Association’s (CGA) 1st CITO EVENT and it is only appropriate that it be held as part of the 6th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CACHE IN TRASH OUT EVENT WEEKEND (April 19th & 20th, 2008) which will take place in at least 31 States and 12 Countries according to the Geocaching.com's Event Calendar on 26 March 2008.

Our Event will start at 9:30AM near the Clackamas Aquatic Park not far from the Clackamas Town Center. We will meet in the Clackamas Aquatic Park Parking Lot (Use the Posted Coordinates) at 9:30AM.

The area that we will be CITOing is the 3 Creeks Natural Area. This is a very large area (Take a look at it on GoogleEarth!!) and we will probably need hundreds of people and many hours to cover the whole area!! So we are going to start small and clean along the roadsides and as far into the Natural Area as we can with the time and people available. We will wrap things up at about 1:30PM.

Everyone is welcome to come and help out for as long as you can. With the weather being so variable at this time of the year, an outdoor Potluck or Picnic would be dicey to plan. However, we may all head over to a local Pizza place or ?????? after we are done. Anybody have any ideas? How about someone sponsoring a “Meet & Greet” Event somewhere closeby??

What do you need to do? SHOW UP!! Since there is a possibility that in addition to trash there may be some IVY PULLING, bring a good sturdy pair of gloves, clippers, nippers or loppers - something to cut the IVY and BLACKBERRY that threatens trail users. As GEOCACHERS we all hate $%^&*^(#_(*(^^#@^% IVY and BLACKBERRIES -- so here is a chance to take out some revenge on them!! The less IVY, the fewer Caches that can be hidden in IVY and that is very GOOD! There are also locations that Caches could be HIDDEN!!

Small children will need a watchful parent because there always some hazards in the Boonies like blackberries, hills, slippery slopes, creeks but, in the area we are cleaning , there will be very little traffic. Older Kids can have a great time exploring the area and there appears to be plenty of bike paths through the area (I’ll check to see if that is OFFICIALLY permitted but it is obvious that bikes and kids have made good use of the area.).

Trash bags are being provided by the Parks Department and the material that we gather will be picked up from a central collection location by the City after we are done.

The only thing that can stop this from being a big success is RAIN and we all know that it never RAINS in OREGON if everyone brings RAINGEAR!!

Might be good to have a Fanny Pack with a Snack and liquid refreshments for breaks while you work, OK?
