Geocache Description:

Camoed small container hidden just below the trail and covered by an unnatural rock pile.

Please hide well. When you log the cache, please list something about baking - your favorite bakery or maybe your favorite baked recipe.

My favorites are cinnamon rolls, ginger snaps and biscuits.

Thanks to CoPackRat for the container.

Here are two recipes to get things started:

This is my mothers recipe. This was the last thing that she baked for me before she passed. Of course, these are very special to me.
Ginger Snaps:
3/4 c. shortening
1 well beaten egg
1 Cup white sugar
1/4 cup molasses

Combine above and add following ingredients, sifted together:
1 t. ginger
1 t. cinnamon
2 t. soda
1 t. cloves
1/4 t. salt
2 Cups flour

Mix well. Form into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Bake 350 degrees about 13 minutes. Makes about 6.5 dozen (recipe may be doubled).

Brother Eric's Fortune Cookies
1 large egg
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
"fortunes"
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch

Start by typing up fortunes - and cutting them out.

Beat egg slightly. Gradually add sugar and beat until very thick and ivory colored. Fold in the oil. Add 2 T. water and a little of the egg mixture to the cornstarch and stir to mix smooth. Gently beat into the egg mixture. Heat a well-seasoned heavy griddle just until a few drops of water bounce when sprinkled on it (350 degrees). Drop a heaping Tablespoon of batter onto the griddle, then spread with a small spatula into a cookie about 4 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick. Bake as many cookies at one time as griddle will hold. Stir battle lightly to blend before dropping each cookie. Bake, turning with a wide flexible spatula to brown underside, about 5 minutes or until cookies are a light golden color with edges slightly browned and they lift easily from the griddle. Remove one cookie at a time; place a fortune paper in center and fold cookie in half twice, pinching edges together. Wipe crumbs from griddle with paper towel between batches. Makes 1 to 1.5 dozen cookies.
