Geocache Description:

MINSI LAKE - Located in Northampton County on the East Branch Martins Creek, Minsi Lake is a 117-acre impoundment within Northampton County's Minsi Lake Wilderness Area, a 300-acre county park reserve with hiking trails, wilderness and wetlands. Minsi Lake Dam is of earthen construction. Its height is 26.5 feet with a length of 3300 feet. Its capacity is 1793 acre feet. Normal storage is 960 acre feet. It drains an area of 3.7 square miles. Construction was completed in 1970. It is owned by Pa Fish and Boat Commission.

This cache is located just off the orange blaze trail which can be accessed from the parking area. The area has seen some rough times and there are many trees down. The cache container is rather unusual and has a special tool attached to make it easier to open although some have opened it without the tool. There is a FTF prize and a FTF Craze Geocoin that we hope the FTF will continue its mission.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THE CONTAINER IS SEALED SHUT!
