Geocache Description:

Mark your calendars geo-friends!

It's that time of year for we Edmonton and area geocachers to get together for a CITO and have a potluck lunch together.

CITO (Cache In Trash Out [LINK]) is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers have been dedicated to cleaning up parks and other cache-friendly places around the world.

The Edmonton CITO Group, 2008

Headquarters

Where: Henrietta Muir Edwards Park
(N 53° 32.323 W 113° 28.664)

When: Saturday, April 19, 2008

Time: 10:00am to 1:45pm

This is our 3rd Annual CITO Event.
I personally enjoy this event because of the great people I've met and the people I got to know better.
Let's spend a couple hours together to clean up our park, have some great food and just plain have fun together.

Please bring: extra pair of gloves (just in case we run out), garbage collecting sticks, food(see list below) and your spirit to clean up our planet.

I'll also suggest to bring a lawn chair for lunch time, and some warm clothes & a rain jacket to tuck away in your vehicles just in case.
All cachers with radios please set them to channel 2, the official geocaching channel.

We're back to this city park because it seems to really need our help every year. It get's dirty quickly. Not only for us, but when out-of-towners visit our city we want them to have a clean park to walk through.

I will be updating the information on this page daily.(i.e. who's bringing food and supplies, prizes that may be donated to us, etc...)

For coordination reasons, would you please give us a heads up as reasonably possible if you can attend or not?(and number of people in your party) It will give us all a good idea how much food and supplies we'll need for our event. (thanks)

Thanks to Kevin Moore with the CITY of EDMONTON, Parks Division, he has filed the permit for our site. Also, he is supplying the gloves, garbage bags and garbage pick-up for that day.

Ledcor Construction has donated a "Porta-potti" for the day. Thanks CB for arranging.

There will be a log book on site to document your attendance and in order to log this event we ask that you please gather at least one bag of garbage.
