You know that you’ve seen it. It lurks on street signs and at
entrances to neighborhoods and shopping centers. Who knows where it
will end up next?! It is spreading like kudzu all over our fair
city and will probably take over the entire planet! What is it?
It’s THE PRETENTIOUS
E!!
You know you’ve found it when you see a sign that reads “Parke”
instead of “Park”. Or how about the sophisticated “Pointe” instead
of “Point”? There are just too many examples to list. Sometimes we
get so sick of seeing these ridiculous monikers that we just want
to scream from the rooftops: “Give us a break(e)!!!”
As usual, the fraygirls have hit upon a fun idea for a cache series
and I'm stealing it. The introduction was stolen from them without
their permission because I was feeling lazy and I'm sure that they
won't mind. It seems that lately anything that has the name "Dunes"
in it will also contain a pretentious E. There are other excellent
candidates around town that certainly deserve a pretentious E cache
placement (hint, hint) and I hope to see more of these pop up
soon.
