NB! The cache falls within the Dorob National Park and although a permit is not required to search for the cache, cachers must please familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations of the park.
The cache is hidden at a place where you can find some living dinosaurs occurring in the Namib.
A scenic drive takes you to the cache and it is strongly advised that you bring along a picnic basket for this one as it is located in a magnificently scenic area.
To get to the cache a series of waypoints needs to be followed and some rules must be adhered to. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for the cache although it is reachable with 2x4 with some careful driving and adequate ground clearance. The drive is not suitable for sedan vehicles and motorcycles and quad bikes are prohibited.
Turn-off at point A and make your way to point B. From here follow the usually dry river bed using any of the existing tracks to point C. At C cross the road and continue to D. From D exit the river and drive to the cache using the main coordinates.
Alternatively for a shorter outing skip waypoints A to B and drive directly to E and from E proceed to C and continue as normal.
The area you are driving in also has private and restricted land but as long as you adhere to the signs in the area you should not be trespassing on any land.
