Due south of Honest John’s Fish Camp is Mullet Creek and several
canals that are the product of dredging of historic salt marsh
areas for mosquito control in the 1940s, resulting in a myriad of
winding canals and a dozen mangrove-lined islands that have become
a haven for wildlife. The canals provide shelter for manatees,
dolphins and a wide variety of coastal birds. The manatees are
attracted to the creek and canals because of the shallow,
sun-warmed waters. Come view the manatees in their natural habitat.
The cache is located on a mangrove island located along a small
canal south of Mullet Creek. You are searching for a large ammo box
containing some nice geo-swag, a log book and a pen.
