Geocache Description:

A fairly short walk which is mostly easy walking on a public footpath. From the suggested parking place walk back along the harbour side towards the Shore Hotel and over the bridge to your choice of trailhead. Trailhead 1 starts with quite a steep hill. If you use the alternative trailhead you will find it picturesque but steep with large steps.

Laxey Head affords beautiful views over the whole bay of Laxey, and of the harbour and part of the river which runs through the centre of the valley.
Tiny twin Lighthouses sit on the breakwaters and are known locally as the Salt'n Pepper pots.
Fishing is popular from the back breakwater although care is needed as the waves break over if the wind is a strong onshore.
Marine life is regularly spotted here, such as Minke Whales, Harbour Porpoise and Dolphins.
Rock climbing takes place at the Ballan Rock area and the climbs have such names as "Looby Loo" and "Andy Pandy". However, these are for experienced climbers.

The cache is a plastic box with an unactivated geocoin for the first to find, plus some small trading items and a log book and pencil. Please replace carefully - thanks.
