El cache es una caja de plástico con lo habitual. Está a 5 minutos andando desde la Ermita.
The cache is a plastic box with the usual stuff. It's a 5-min walk from the small church.

ESPAÑOL: Para quien haya leído los Episodios Nacionales de Benito Pérez Galdós, y en particular el que corresponde a la Batalla de los Arapiles, la Ermita de la Peña (s.XVII), junto al pueblo de Calvarrasa de Arriba, tendrá un significado especial, dado que allí se desarrolla la parte más emocionante de la acción narrativa, y allí tuvieron lugar, en la realidad, algunos de los más duros combates de aquel sangriento día de 1812. El enclave, y las elevaciones cercanas por los que se puede dar un paseo agradable, ofrecen una perspectiva muy buena del campo de batalla desde las posiciones francesas hacia el oeste, con su centro en el Arapil Grande, donde se puede buscar otro Geocache conmemorativo. El mejor recurso para obtener información histórica es la dirección (visit link)
Otros lugares cercanos de interés son las fuentes y la plaza de toros supuestamente de época romana, y la alquería de Pelagarcía, donde se conserva un refugio antiaéreo de la Guerra Civil, pues estuvo allí la embajada alemana.

ENGLISH: For anyone who has read Benito Perez Galdos´s National Episodes , in particular the one about the Battle of Salamanca, the Ermita de la Peña (17th century), a small church near the village of Calvarrasa de Arriba, will have a special significance, since the most exciting part of the narrative action develops there, and in reality, some of the fiercest fighting of that bloody day of 1812 took place on that site. Its location, and the heights nearby, which can make a pleasant walk, offer a very good viewpoint of the battlefield from the French positions to the west, with its centre in the Arapil Grande (an isolated hill), where you can find another memorial Geocache. Other nearby places of interest include the allegedly Roman fountains and bullring, and the hamlet of Pelagarcía, where there is still a Civil War air raid shelter, because that is where the German embassy was at the time.
