PIE IRONS!

GETTING THERE:
The Miller Ferry The Miller Ferry leaves from Catawba Island (really a peninsula) which accommodates both passengers and cars. The Miller Ferry takes about 18 minutes to get to the Island and has free parking for your car on the mainland, if you do not want to take your car to the Island. Read notes below concerning the "geocacher special" for the weekend. KEEP IN MIND, LAST FRIDAY BOAT FROM HERE *LEAVES* AT 7 PM!

The Jet Express, which accommodates passengers only, operates between downtown Port Clinton or Sandusky to downtown Put-in-Bay. There are fees to park your car on the mainland. KEEP IN MIND, LAST FRIDAY BOAT FROM HERE *LEAVES* AT 11:30 PM!

Fares are available at the posted links. If you leave your car on the mainland, you may want to bring bikes to travel on the island, rent a golf cart, or pre-arrange transportation to the state park. If you are concerned about making it to the campground, please contact the event hosts by email in advance, to get our cell numbers.

If you plan arrive on the island via your personal watercraft, please see this link for docking information.
If you plan arrive on the island via your personal aircraft, please see this link for airport information.
Alternatively, you could ride over on Lemmy.

CAMPING:
We plan to camp at one of the full hookup sites (there are less than a dozen of them) at South Bass Island State Park on Friday and Saturday nights, and this will serve as the base camp for the “organized” activities. The site will have a small white travel trailer with a BlackBrownDog wooden sign and large American flag wind whirly gig with 3 blades outside so you can find us! Online registration is available for the park. Looks like you don't register for a specific site here like you would at the other OSP campgrounds.

EVENT WEEKEND ACTIVITIES:
* Friday Night: Welcome to the Island Campfire
* Saturday 1:45 pm : CITO Event
* Saturday Night: Pie Irons and Smores Campfire
* Sunday Morning: Pancake Breakfast

More activities are in the works, and will not be final until arrival on the island. Contact us with any questions.

OTHER WEEKEND ISLAND EVENTS:
* Saturday 9:15 am 1 mile walk, 9:30 am 5k run/fun walk: 5th Annual 5K at the Bay!
* Saturday afternoon from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm: 33rd annual Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department island style Clam Bake at the Fire Station on Concord Avenue.
* Saturday afternoon: island wide sidewalk sale.

CACHES:
Please see BlackBrownDog's bookmarked list of the Island's caches. A list of the island caches will be available when you arrive at basecamp.
