This series is the sister series to the
local landmarks series. Unfortunately, caches in this series
will not qualify for LL's because they have drifted into the vast
expanse of time. Gone but not forgotten.
Talcott Hardware, or "Bud's" as it was more affectionately known
was your typical neighborhood hardware store. But all the kids used
to flock to this place with their allowance money to look at the
MAtchbox cars for sale there. New cars it seemed like every week.
We never even knew what the place sold besides Matchbox cars. I
have boxes and boxes of those cars to this day affectionately
purchased at Bud's.
Sadly, jsut a few years ago, Bud decided to sell. I couldn't
bring myself to take advantage of the 70-90% discounts on their
sale because I knew I'd be contributing to the death of my
childhood shangri-la.
Today, Bud's is a dance studio across the street from the cache.
That hurts. Nuff said.
This cache is going to be tough. It's pretty much a drive up -
you can park within feet of the cache. It's a micro, and that's all
I want to say for now. I may add a hint later. We'll see. You do
NOT have to enter private property to find this cache. I took a
boat load of waypoints for this, so they should be close. They'll
have to be really close. Good luck! Cache is rated a 4.5 difficulty
for stealth and the hide itself.
