Shelter #1 at Masterson Station Park
Since we have a shelter, the event will go on no matter the
weather. |
Come our and join the cachers of Geocky, pronounced
jockey for a caching social under the open skies with food,
fun, and finds. All cachers from all parts are welcome to
attend.
The Lexington area has seen an increase in the number of
participants that are either new to the area or new to geocaching
itself. This will serve as an opportunity for those to meet others
who have caught the "geocaching bug" as well, ask questions about
geocaching, and hunt for other nearby permanent caches and new
caches posted just for the event. The primary focus is to relax and
have fun while helping those who need help. We want everyone who
attends to feel confident when they go out the door to look for or
place the next cache.
As for the food, we will be grilling out, but what we are
grilling out is up to you. Those who attend must provide their
own meat to grill out. In addition, we ask that everyone bring a
side dish or dessert to share with the group. Geocky will
provide plates, cups, utensils, drinks, and charcoal. Please
keep in mind that the shelter does not have electricity when
considering what side dish to bring.
Once we have eaten, the agenda is up to you. Open space is the
dominant feature of Masterson Station Park with plenty of room for
frisbee, a few miles of trails with caches along the way, a dog
park for your pooches, and of course the shelter to relax
at. |
