Around Grand Rapids, Michigan, there are a large number of
Puzzle/Mystery caches. I find great enjoyment in solving the puzzle
and then finding the cache.
Around here in Crown Point, there are NO "?" caches! (at least within 10 miles,
anyway)
It just happens that my in-laws live next to some undeveloped
public land...
So, without further ado, the first (that I know of) Puzzle Cache
within the limits of Crown Point.
Dirty Cachin' (IN)
Dirty Caching is defined as finding
a cache without knowing its exact coordinates.
This cache is within 50' of its posted coordinates.
The only way to find it, is to go to the posted coordinates and
start looking.
This isn't as difficult as it sounds. Depending on the area, and
the size of the cache you are looking for, there are a finite
number of places to hide a cache.
If your GPSr is a little different from mine, you may have to
expand your search area beyond 50'. I did take 350 readings and
averaged them for an accuracy better than 10', so you should end up
in the right area to begin with.
6-21-08: In town for our 20th anniversary, checked on
cache and saw that it's really a lot harder in the
summer...difficulty and terrain have been adjusted accordingly.
