Geocache Description:

A cache along the Mayfair Ranch Trail in Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space.

Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space

Tucked into the western foothills of Santa Clara County, Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve boasts beautiful oak woodlands, native grassland areas, and spectacular scenic views. Adjacent to Calero County Park, the preserve now hosts three trails: Longwall Canyon Trail (2.7 miles), Bald Peaks Trail (1.1 miles) and Mayfair Ranch Trail (3.1 miles).

Opened May 14, 2007, the Mayfair Ranch Trail is a pleasant trail with nice views of the surrounding ridges. In the spring you will also be treated to a variety of wildflowers.

We came here for the wildflowers for our nature-and-wildflower hike today and we were not disappointed.

This cache is placed near a picnic table that looks out towards the Bald Peaks to the north. Take a cache break here from your hike and enjoy the view!
