Geocache Description:

Another cache in the "Poplar Creek Bike Trail" series. It's a Lock'N'Lock near an unpaved side trail.

I noticed that the Poplar Creek Bike Trail doesn't really have many caches nearby that are easily accessible from the trail - so I thought I'd start adding a few. The goal of the series is encourage folks to get out on the trail, by bike or on foot, and enjoy this nice forest preserve, rather than just going for park'n'grabs.
The hides are not all quick bike'n'grabs, though, and in the summer you can expect to have to wade through some tall grasses and/or somewhat scratchy undergrowth, so dress accordingly (bike shorts may not be the ideal attire).

When I was hunting Dr Bill's Logger's Lair a huge group of high school kids was having a running meet here (made for an interesting exercise in stealth...), and when they almost knocked me off my bike I realized that there is actually an unpaved trail that goes off the bike trail here. I haven't followed it all the way to see where it goes, but it seemed like a good place to hide a Lock'N'Lock.

Now this one you can do as a park'n'grab, but I hope you will go hunt Logger's Lair and PCBT #7 while you're here.

Please watch out for holes in the ground near GZ, I don't want you breaking your ankle!!

If you decide to ride your bike around the trail, check out my Bike'N'Bench Loop cache, which will take you around the whole 8.9-mile loop.
