Geocache Description:

A roughish path, quite steep in parts and often muddy, leads to the location - it is part of the Rossendale Way and can be combined with other routes to make a good circular walk. BEWARE if you have young children or incautious dogs with you - there are dangerous steep drops next to the path!

To access the path you can either walk along from East View, past Tenter Tower, or walk up the path from the junction of Stubbins Vale Road and Strongstry Road. You can drive right through the Louth factory and park on the road beyond the cottages but the road deteriorates beyond this, and becomes a private road after the aforementioned junction.

The ample waters shed by the Holcombe Moor upland have carved a quite impressive series of waterfalls in the gritstone bedrock. It's hard to get a really good view of the longest drop - please watch you don't slip off the edge whilst trying to do so! The falls can be seen better in the winter when the trees have shed their leaves.

The cache is a small locking box with the usual log book, pencil, sharpener and a few swaps. Please re-hide it carefully as it's hidden very near to the path, and watch out for muggles as it's a popular route with walkers at the weekends.
