Mt. Dumm = My last name (Doyle) and my climbing friend's last name (Gumm). We liked Dumm better than Goyle haha. This geocache is at the top of a pretty substantial foothill in Morehead, KY. Be prepared for a good hike.
There is no trail whatsoever, but the hike is pretty straightforward...you start at the bottom and climb to the top. It took us about 45 minutes to reach the peak. It is heavily wooded and very steep. You will need to use your hands to climb. No special gear is needed, however. Bring some down home determination and you'll be at the top in no time.

The original PVC pipe has now been replaced, per the comments. Please check the comments for additional updates. We placed the geocache over a decade ago when we were students at MSU and no longer live there. Thank you so much to the cachers who have found it over the years for taking care of the cache and keeping it there!

The cache is a camoflauged PVC pipe that is hidden somewhere at the top. You may have to look around a bit, as per the dense trees, but the surface area of the peak is not that large. I am confident you will find it, and not go home disappointed. The cache is a normal sized cache, so bring something to trade, or even throw in a travelbug.
To get the hill, go to the city park and park you car in the very back near a pinic pavillion. Walk the rest of the trail until it hits a private fence. DO NOT CROSS INTO THE PRIVATE PROPERTY! Start your climb around there and you will be heading up the right foothill. The hill stands close to 1200 ft above sea level. The climb is less than that because Morehead is not at sea level, of course, but it is still a big hike. Have fun and leave logs!
By the way, you will get some to see some pretty amazing views of Morehead State University's campus from the top.
