2nd Lake Micro Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no response to the previous note, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

TICK-FREE CACHE!!! Log sheet only in micro-sized cache. Bring a pen!

This cache was a geocoin swap for a time, but the hiding place was too small for the container to hold several coins and their protective sleeves. So I have returned this cache to 'micro' status, and moved the coin swap to a different location and a larger cache container that can hold many geocoins.

This is Lake Barnegat, or locally known as "The 2nd Lake". It is part of a series of cedarwater lakes. Most of the water features of this area have this dark tea-colored characteristic from flowing through dozens of cedar swamps through the Pine Barrens. This particular lake, from a sandy slope just east of the cache, has a submerged dirt road which crosses the lake to the beach on the other side. With this road being only about 3 1/2 - 4 feet below the surface of the lake, you can literally walk across the entire lake. When this lake is drained in the winter, the road is exposed and it becomes a play spot for local kids. You can also see the lake used to be a cranberry bog... the sections of bog are clearly separated by irrigation trenches.

Happy Caching! -MUGGLE FUGGER!
