A small container with a log and a few trade items near an interesting place in the middle of nowhere. (My kinda cache!!)
Recently, someone wrote me and asked me if I knw of any caches, present or past, in the little sliver of North Carolina found at the top of page 80 in the DeLorme Atlas and Gazetteer. It is essentailly exempt from the DeLorme Challenge (see rule 6) but I guess some people are completists. So I decided, next time I found myself out that way I'd have a look around. On a recent cache-maintenance run, I did just that, and I found this charming little 'flight school'. I didn't have a chance to speak to the proprieter, but I found a great place for a cache just down and across the road. Lots of prickers in the area, but remember you do NOT have to venture into the woods!! The cache is about five or six feet off the road.
