On Saturday, July 19th the Race will commence at the listed
coordinates in Point Defiance park in Tacoma. Check-in will be from
12-12:30pm. The race will start promptly at 12:30pm. Teams of at
least 3 and up to 6 players will use their wits and resources to
race to 8 exotic locations throughout the park!
In the spirit of "The Amazing Race", each location will provide
a unique hidden puzzle challenge that must be found and completed
before proceeding to the next stop - with a few Road Blocks and
Detours thrown in for good measure! However, all teams will be
allowed to complete the course (time allowing) without fear of
elimination. The course will be along the 5 Mile Drive route in
Point Defiance. Teams this year will be allowed to use vehicles at
their discretion for travel between puzzle/cache sites. In this
event, teams are expected to drive courteously and adhere to all
traffic safety laws and park regulations: failure to do so will
result in team disqualification.
Team members may have a GPS, cell phone, writing implement, and
paper. No laptops, etc. will be allowed. "Adventure Packs" will be
provided for each team to help solve the various puzzles. Teams can
expect to spend more time solving puzzles than traveling. Teams may
travel at their own pace. However, at 6:00pm teams that have not
finished the course will be directed to the final pit stop. Each
team must travel as a group at all times. The team that finishes
with the most "geo-dollars" wins. Details about scoring will be
given prior to the event. In case of a tie, the fastest team
wins.

multi-cultural potluck and BBQ!
