Geocache Description:

Hammarforsen, the Rapid of Hammar, was constructed in 1952 by the dean HB Hammar, grandfather of KG Hammar, the previons archbishop of Sweden, who was raised in this village.
The bathingplace was aimed for the children of the region. This made it possible for the children to learn how to swim. It was the children of the village that started to call the place “Hammarforsens brus” The Murmur of the Rapid of Hammar.
It is told that nowhere else the children learned how to swim as fast as in Norra Rörum, this because the water was so cold.
Nowadays it is “sockengillet” the parish recreationgroup that runs and takes care of “Hammarforsen”, the recreation area of the village.
Why not grill a sausage and enjoy yourselves. Or why not take a bath. You don´t have to stay in the water to long.
