You will need to take the Glade Cable Ferry which runs "on demand" from 5 A.M. to 2:20 A.M. seven days a week. Once you are across the ferry take the first left onto Glade Road. Where Glade Road beomes Denisoff Road take the dirt road that branches off to the left Follow it to the Ward's Ferry Trailhead. The cache is located less than 1km from the trailhead. You are looking for a medium sized lock n' lock located just north of where the Slocan River meets the Kootenay River. Be sure to stop and take in the view on the way to the cache.
Ward's Ferry Trail is an easy to moderate trail that is 7kms long. The trail goes from the community of Glade to Rover Creek (our backyard). The trail partly follows the original wagon road. It passes the landing where Tom Ward ferried people and supplies across the Kootenay River to the Nelson District mines. Ward also maintained a halfway house at the site of his crossing which was well stocked with liquid refreshments - you aren't so lucky, you will need to bring your own.
