Ammo a Saint? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

HarvardTaylor: This has indeed gone, which is a real shame. It must have taken some doing to remove its receptacle.

I'll replace it with something near as soon as I have time.

Geocache Description:

A rural cache within easy walking distance

In the last knockings of the Second World War a mighty explosion ripped through the peaceful environs of Savernake, brought about by a massive American arms dump going up in smoke. Thought to be an unfortunate accident, the explosion damaged many buildings, including St Katherine’s Church, Savernake.

As well as extensive roof damage and dangerous weakening of the north wall, the stained glass once gracing every window was nearly all destroyed. To this day it’s one of the few ‘traditional’ churches with little stained glass…

This cache looks to celebrate the unfortunate accident which, to my mind, has made a beautiful focal point for a decent walk!

You could combine this cache with the Madness of King George, Savernake forest and Great Big Fun Guy.

The cache is a decent sized Tupperware container, with all the usual goodies.
