Geocache Description:

This is our second participation in the World-wide Flash Mob Geocache Event!

Click here for information concerning how many of these events are being planned simultaneously worldwide!

Please indicate as early as possible if you plan to attend.

Once again we are hosting a World Wide Flash Mob Event, coordinated to take place at the same time as other similar events worldwide… hence the name!!

WWFM II was held on November 10, 2007, and over 4,300 people participated world wide.

THIS EVENT WILL GO AHEAD NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER IS… SO COME PREPARED FOR ANY CONDITIONS!!!

Who? Geocachers, their families and friends.

What? A flash mob cache event – No, we are not going to flash anyone!!

Where? As close to the above coordinates as we can get on the day of the event!

When? 14:00-14:15, Saturday, 10 May 2008 (2:00 to 2:15 pm)

Why? Because we need a reason to have a spring meet!!

A Flash Mob Gathering of Geocachers. Only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Anyone arriving after this time cannot claim the cache as a find.

Please feel free to bring along other geocachers and anyone else you think might like to learn more about geocaching!!

This event is unusual since it has such a short duration and we will be joined by thousands of other cachers from all over the world.

Flash mobs have gathered for other reasons but we are trying to see how many cachers we can get together at the same time and beat last year's record.

The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer.

Schedule of Events:

IMPORTANT: If you get to the area before 1400hrs mill about and mosey. Be nonchalant and casual. Look like a muggle tourist! Don't look like a gathering waiting to happen. Mosey as realistically as you can. This is part of the fun. We will seem to appear out of nowhere so that muggles will not know what is going on!

The event will be tightly organized with a minute-by-minute itinerary (synchronized with the GPS clock, of course).

13:55 – Arrive in the area.

14:00 – A cache container will be placed on the ground at the coordinates to signal the start. Quickly gather around.

14:01 - You will be handed an individual log sheet to sign (bring a pen, although we hope to have pencils provided anyway!) and drop in a cache container. The sheets will later become the log book.

14:05 - A meal per cacher to be distributed (don’t get too excited-it’s a Hershey kiss!)

14:06 - TB and coin trade and prize draws!

14:12 - Group photo at ground zero. THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE EVENT!!

14:14 - One minute warning. Prep to leave but don't "look" like you are prepping.

1415 - Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area as quickly as you gathered. Act like nothing happened!!!

Meet elsewhere if desired. The log sheet collection box will be packed up and sealed away. The event area will be vacated without a trace. Although participants are welcome to get together for socializing or whatever after the event, the event will officially be over at 14:15h.

Smile at any muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?"
