Acquired by the Save the Redwoods League, the 50 acre Peters
Creek Grove is a beautiful old-growth redwood grove in a remote
canyon, it is the third largest old-growth redwood grove in the
Santa Cruz Mountains, after Big Basin and Henry Cowell. No one
knows why Mountain Charlie spared these ancient trees but they are
still here today for us to enjoy.

The hike is about 11 miles round trip from Portola Redwoods
State Park HQ. The hike from the trail camp is strenuous and there
is a caution sign at Bear Creek Trail Trailhead pointing out this
fact. I found the hike coming out was more strenuous than going
in.

As this is a canyon with very poor gps signal the hint is a
spoiler as i would feel bad if you didn't find it after hiking all
that way, if you can get a good signal please post alternative
coords the best i could get had a 45ft accuracy.
