I decided to take a detour off Hwy 6 and head to the Boistfort area and survey the December 2007 flood damage.
This historical area has seen lots of high water throughout the years but nothing at this scale. These residents and volunteer help had made remarkable progress but much still remains. Rather than backtrack I turned onto the Pe Ell MacDonald Rd to reconnect with Hwy 6 in Pe Ell. Just a mile or so from the corner country store, I noticed the Boistfort Lions Park and pulled in look things over. Rather than plant a cache in the park, I found a trail and walked over to the entrance of Weyerhauser's 5000 Rd and looked for a good spot. If you park at the recommended parking coords, you have a little more than 200' to the cache location. The forest floor is easy to navigate through but you will have to do some light bushwacking and pick up your feet a bit to reach the cache.
