Geocache Description:

A simple 2 stage multi-cache. Parking in the parking area is highly recommended to keep traffic down on a quiet street.

Cloyne is not an old town when viewed in the grand scope of things. It was settled in the early 1800's but saw most growth after the building of the Addington Road in the 1860's.

This cache will give you a chance to experience some of the History of this area.

From the parking lot it is an easy walk to all stages of the multi. The total distance to travel will be less than 1 km.

The coordinates take you to the first stage. This pioneer cemetery has been hidden for several years. Recently a lot of work has been done to clean it up and make it accessible. Not all of the graves are identified. Some of them are marked only with wooden crosses placed just recently. Please be very respectful of the area as it is in the midst of a residential neighborhood.

There are two calculations to make to find the coordinates for the final:

Find the grave of Christiana Esther. How old was she when she died? Take the number of YEARS and subtract the number of MONTHS and add 100. Add the result to the North coordinates.

Find the grave of Edward Hall. What year did he die? Take the inner two digits and add them to the West coordinates.

The Final is a small container suitable for small trading items. A toonie is there for the FTF.

While you are in the area, make sure you check out the Pioneer Museum.
