Enoree Bottom Cache *ARCHIVED 6-1-16* Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Scout Master: Due to 2 cachers not finding it, I went by today to check on the cache. Indeed, it is missing. I have decided to archive it as it has become more difficult to access due to vegetation and flooding. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the Enoree River in Taylors, SC. It is on Piedmont Natural Gas right-of-way next to some private land. Permission for placement and searching has been given by the Peter D. of the Community Church And by Stanley Nix of Peidmont Natural Gas.

**NOTE added 5-5-2011**While there is a No Trespassing Sign at the entrance off the main road. Permission has been granted by Stanley Nix of PNG(see above) to enter and park on the dirt and walk down the right-of way (the cleared area)to the cache location and search for the cache along the right-of-way. Do NOT drive down the dirt road past the trestle!

Note 2: Unless you want some of Greenville County's finest to confront you, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE AFTER DARK!

You are looking for an ammo can I have rated the terrain a "2.0" due only to the possible need to navigate some limbs and/or thick growth, as well as mud if it is wet. Most should actually have little problem.

You can access this cache easily, (or harder if you prefer some walking). Turn off of Main St. in Taylors at the obvious turnoff at the end of the bridge. You can park there or just down the hill and walk about 150 yards to the cache location. BUT-MAKE SURE THE GROUND IS DRY! If it is wet(muddy) you might GET STUCK (4-wheel drive would be a good idea). If you DO drive down, watch out for ruts in the road bed. There is a possibility of standing water after heavy rains if the Enoree River overflows.
.....Walk just over 100 feet past the trestle. The cache is located just off to the left of the mowed area at the base of a large tree (about 2ft diameter at base). The is a flexible yellow line marker in the mowed area. If you come to it, you have gone too far.

.....Thorns and ticks are a real possibility here, so be aware. The cache is located off the cleared lane areas into the trees/brush. I added a rope to secure the can from floating off in floods.

You CAN park at the church, BUT you are able to drive MUCH CLOSER to the cache. See above info.

HAPPY CACHING!!!
