HGCS Birthday Celebration.
Gathering of Geocachers. This event will only be 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Please BYOP! (Bring your own pen)

About the Event
This event is being held in conjunction with dozens of other World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) events that will be held simultaneously around the world. Come be a part of a worldwide caching event, with potentially thousands of participants!
You've heard of mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer. The event will begin PRECISELY at 12:00 p.m. CST (using the clock on GPS receivers) on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
The event will be held at the Copperfield Recreation Facilities at given coordinates in the park.
11:45 - 11:59 am - Stroll around, wait in your cars, do whatever you want, just don't go to ground zero (above coordinates)
11:59 am - Head to ground zero!
12:00 pm - Log sheets will be handed out. Bring your own writing instrument. Sign individual log sheets and drop them in the collection box.(The Log Sheets are also your entry into a drawing for the door prizes!) Birthday Hats given to May Babies. Mix and Mingle with other cachers! A cache bucket will be out with trades. Remember, take an item - leave an item! You can also bring your TB's and geocoins for others to discover.
12:08 p.m. - The event "meal" "AKA Birthday Cake" will be served.
12:10 p.m. - Drawing for prize and FTF honors.
12:12 p.m. - Assemble for and take group photo.
12:14 pm - One minute warning is called "It is now 12:14!" Clean up and prepare to leave the area.
12:15 pm - LEAVE the area!
The collection box with your log sheets will be sealed at that time. If your name is not on a log sheet you will not be able to log the event.
If everything goes right we will have a "mob" of people converging on one spot for a 15 minute geocaching event and then disappearing. This could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few "power walker or excercising" muggle eyebrows.
Note: Although participants are welcome to get together after the event, the event will officially be over at 12:15 am. Afterwards, participants may chat, meet, eat and plan for a day of caching. We just ask that these arrangements be done away from the event area.
There are some really great caches in the area that have some major challenge requirments. Those of you who are "4 x 4" enthusiasts may want to try Team Thung's caches. Also, if you have not cached in the area recently, this is the time to do so.
Let us know if you will be attending by going to "Log Your Visit" in the upper right-hand corner of this page. Under "Type of Log", select "Will Attend". In your comments, please include the number of people who will be attending. Also, please include the "May" Birthday Cacher. I will be gathering "special hats" for all May babies to wear.
