Geocache Description:

This cache is part of my “DEFENDERS of ROXBOROUGH” series. The neighborhood known as Roxborough is unique in many ways. One of those ways is that there are a limited number of entry points to drive into Roxborough. Six in fact. This cache will defend one of those ways to enter Roxborough. If you find all six caches you will become a “Defender of Roxborough” Some caches are already in place and the rest will hopefully be active for the Best of Roxborough breakfast. (GC1BAMW) When all six are up and running I will list there waypoints. Good luck and happy caching.

This is a 2 stage Multi that if compleated will lead you to "The Treehouse" and the top end of Fairmount Park. The Treehouse is a great place to take the Kids. The final stage is a .30 Cal Ammo Can loaded with Loot for the kids.

From the Web-Site:

Located at the northern end of the Park in the majestic gorge of the Wissahickon Valley, the Wissahickon Environmental Center is part of what was once Andorra Nursery, the largest nursery on the East Coast following World War II.

For those who are familiar with this former farmhouse, it will forever be called the "Tree House" because a giant tree grew through its front porch until the early 1990s. We invite new generations of Wissahickon lovers to visit the Center and check out our new aquarium and life-like floor to ceiling mural depicting wildlife in the area.

You can also take advantage of fun and informative programs (see below) which are offered year round. What a great venue to try your hand at apple pressing and maple sugaring or learn more about native wildlife, creeks, forest ecology and watersheds.

Tree House Tots: A fun, interactive program for pre-schoolers. The Wissahickon Environmental Center offers a program designed for young children to discover the wonders of nature. Click here for more information.

Not recomended at night as the parking lot for stage 2 closes around 9pm. (You will know its closed when you see the large steel gate blocking your path. So be careful driving at night)
