A fine cairn hike to the top of Storaberget with splendid views in several directions.

Jeg gikk til toppen i 45 minuter ved å løpet gjennom saumarkene opp til foten til berget og da tok jeg den kortere (første) merket stien til Storaberget. Jeg brukte 2 timer på tur med retur forbi Grindavatn. Ruta er 7.75 km. Andre kilder anbefaler 3-4 timers tur.
Kæsjen ligger ikke langt fra varden på østen av toppen.

An excellent hike with several approach routes. It can be combined with several other hikes in the area.
The hike took me 45 minutes from the parking waypoint to the top, but I jogged through the sheep pastures up to the foot of the mountain. I took an alternate route past Grindavatn on the way back. Roundtrip took me about 2 hours. Other sources say it takes 3-4 hours. The route is 7.75 km. Several dams to cross and places to rest.
The cache lays not far from the cairn near the eastern edge of the summit.
