Geocache Description:

This will be quite different for those of you in the C Sprs or Denver areas. Not on a trail, but very little grows in the cobbles and shale that cover most of the area. Habitat Stamp required for entry from Pueblo West, and entry fee if you go south of rail line into the main part of the park.

You will need to watch your footing on slopes as the cobbles will "rock and roll." The terrain is very open and has a great deal of wildlife. I saw eagles, hawks, rabbits, lizards and a bull snake on the day I placed the cache. The cache is technically in the Pueblo Reservoir State Park, but is not easily accessible from the main part of the park. Cache first contained a kid's Iowa "Hawkeye" sweatshirt, a Pez dispenser,2 dexterity puzzles, 3 golf balls, a Mesa Verde pennant, a science fiction book and, of course, 10 pennies to make it a cash cache (ha-ha-he-he.) This is an area worth seeing. The yellow map on the cache page is misleading. There is no way to drive near the cache from the west. If you want to use a map, use the Topo Zone map. For parking I strongly suggest decrypting the clue. January 2002: Team Kakela moved to Hawaii, then on to Florida, and Squad 51 has graciously agreed to adopt this cache. Mahalo (Thanks) Squad 51! January 2005: We have lost contact with Squad 51 and Scottandgina have stepped forward to adopt Cobbles. Thanks for keeping this wonderful cache alive! They have replaced the weathered container with a clear plastic box. As of 6/1/2011 Tammy and The Chief have adopted the cache. You can park in Pueblo West, without any stamp or fee and walk to the cache. W. Camino Pablo Ave.
