Geocache Description:

A cache placed to celebrate my 1000th find

As a celebration of my 1000 find (at Candelabra in Butano State Park) I placed a cache in the park. The cache can be found on the Candelabra Trail as well. Lewa and I helped build a portion of the trail, so it was fun to go back and see the portion that we were involved in as well as the rest of the trail.

When I first started geocaching I used the name of this park as my user ID. I really enjoyed Butano and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful area in an area know by so few people. At that time there were no caches in the park. Eventually Oat Bun was placed. Later I placed Butano Creek. Now looking at all of the caches in the park shows that it is fairly well covered. Quite a change over the last 7 years (yes I know, 7 years and only 1000 caches).

This cache should be fairly easy to locate once you get to the right location. Be careful while retrieving the cache. There are some natural supports in the area that will help you retrieve the cache easily and safely. GPS coverage was kind of spotty by better here than in many other areas of the park. When replacing the cache, ensure that the handle is accessible to ease reaching the cache by the next finder.
