Grand Slam, 2008. Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Clinton P: Thanks to all that have visited this cache. My favorite of the one I've put out but never mind, all good things have to come to an end, a bit like Welsh rugby success. Have checked on the cache today and found it to have become entombed in a nicely repaired wall and the hole the cache was hidden in is now a beautifully cemented in brick. As of 18.35 cache is archived leaving a lovely park for peace and tranquility and perhaps a cache or two.

Geocache Description:

This is a straight forward cache with room for swaps such as geocoins and travel bugs but not too many. The area itself is an oasis of tranquility within the area of Leeds University and well worth a visit on a warm summers day to escape the hussle and bussle of Leeds city centre.

You are looking for a small plastic container containing some small inexpensive items and a log book. Hopefully this cache will attract some international cachers due to its location within the University grounds so it may be an idea to consider dropping travel bugs etc here.

The cache is called Grand Slam, 2008 so to acknowledge the achievement of the Welsh Rugby Union team over the past four years, winning two grand slams in the six nations rugby. A remarkable achievement for a team that has for so long had to take pride in past achievements only, but who can now look forward to a much brighter future playing exciting running rugby with a depth of squad that can threaten the wealthier rugby nations for a considerable time to come.

Although the area itself does not hold any connection to rugby some people may have something to say about putting the cache in an area known by a name of some significance to rugby supporters of another nation other than Wales. May I say at this point that this is purely coincidence and the connection was only made after the cache was placed. (Connection made by my wife). Theres lovely for you.
