Welcome all to the 2nd GEOVAGUE
Road Rally. The first road rally, GCY02Y
by DeweyDoubleD, held 2 years ago was such a hit that we
thought it would be great to hold another one this year. Assemble
your team and get ready to have a great day of caching fun and
adventure culminating in a get-together to present the Rally awards
and socialize.
The Nitty Gritty
Details
The rally will start at the
posted coordinates at 8:15am for team registration. We hope to get
everyone on the road at 9:00am. The official rules* are as
follows:
- Teams can be from 1 to 4 individuals.
- There will be one scorecard per team that is handed out at
registration.
- Each team must stay together in one vehicle during the rally
portion of the event, no splitting up.
- There will be approximately 30 caches hidden around the greater
Burlington area (Burlington, South Burlington, Colchester,
Winooski, Essex, Jericho, Underhill, Richmond, and Williston). Each
cache will have a specific point value based on difficulty. There
will also be a time element to the rally that will affect your
total point score. The quicker you finish the more points your team
will receive.
- The Rally will start at approximately 9am and teams should
report to the final location no earlier than 1pm and no later than
3pm. Teams reporting in after 3pm will incurr a major time penalty
, not to mention the food may be
gone by then!
* Rules subject to change by administrators at any time prior to
start of race!
** NOTE ** When you have organized
your team, please send a note to
catoz with your team name (if any) and roster. Also, if you
would like to dontate any prizes to the cause, contact either of
VT_EMT,
mwein,
crowbait, or
myself.
Post-Rally
Get-Together
All teams should finish up and
meet at the post-rally location, as indicated below and also on
your scorecard, no later than 3pm. We will then present the awards
for the top three placing teams based on points. Remember, the
sooner you finish the more points you'll get. Other awards and
prizes will also be presented. For the get together we would like
to keep it fairly light. Drinks, snacks, etc. We will have coolers
to keep things cold, however we will not have any power available
so if you need to keep something warm your on your own. We will
update the following list as needed.
