Geocache Description:

This is a nice cache in a very nice area. Some day this will all be houses so explore this great spot while you still can! Once the homes are built they will never know the important history of this area.

This cache is not only fun to find but it is also a history lesson (for no additional cost). Find the cache and you will find a history sheet that tells what makes this chosen spot a special part of local history. The cache container was originally a small prescription pill bottle containing a log sheet, history sheet and a pencil. On 10-18-08 I replaced the micro with a new ammo can. The terrain is a little tough but most should have no problem. You will have to cross a very small creek but if you look, there are narrow spots where you can step to a few rocks and make it across without even getting your shoes wet (currently, in the summer of 2008, this little creek is bone dry). Access is possible from the back of a new housing development. You can park on the side of the street in the part where no houses are yet built (and there are a couple of pulloffs). If you park at the farthest point back in the neighborhood, you will still have a short walk (about 0.20 miles) to the cache location. There are no houses in the area of the cache yet, so no one will bother you and it will make for a pleasant walk. You DO NOT have to walk through anyone's yard to get to the cache site. Wildlife in abundant in the area to include rabbits, turkey and deer.

***Note 7/24/08***
The foliage is grown up quite high here in the dead of summer. I have upped the difficulty and the terrain rating to compensate. You can do it though, I made it there in shorts and crocs!

***Note 10/18/2008***
The foliage is starting to die off for the fall but I cut a path back to the cache with my ATV. You can now have a pretty easy walk to the site. I reduced the terrain difficulty to a 3. I also replaced the micro with a new ammo can.

My Cache Owner Pledge to You: I will maintain this cache to the best of my ability. If there is a problem and you let me know via log entry or email, I will check this cache and either repair or disable it within 72 hours. I will check this cache periodically for trackables and I will watch the logs to see if cachers are reporting missing trackables. If missing trackables are reported, I will confirm this and mark them as "missing" from the cache within 72 hours so the cache inventory remains accurate. I would encourage all cache owners to maintain their caches at this level. Let's keep this sport fun!!

CONGRATS TO AMMOSUPERMAN FOR THE FTF!!
