Geocache Description:

This cache is located on Sunken Mine Road in Putnam Valley. I came a cross a cache hide like this in Florida and thought that it was a great idea and this is the only place that I could find to somewhat match it. So this is a micro (bison tube) in the woods. The cache location is a very peacefull area as you can hear the stream running in the background and you're just in the middle of the woods. I was hoping to make this a real park and grab that you didn't even need to get out of your car but the location didn't really allow for that. You also don't need to go down the embankment to get to the cache. Sunken Mine Rd is a seaonal rd and is closed from 12/22 thur 4/1. Below are parking areas on either end of Sunken Mine Road along with a parking area on either side of the cache. My troop has hiked this road/trail a number of times and it is just full of nice views so take the time and check out the whole road. There is an extraction tool attached to the cache for its retriveal however you will need an extraction tool for the log.
