Big Santa Anita Canyon - 1200' elevation gain/loss - Beautiful 4 mile hike to cache.
Park at Chantry flats to begin your hike. The cache is located at the Spruce Grove Campground which is a moderate 4 mile hike from Chantry flats. Bring plenty of water for the hike.
You can take either the Gabriellino or the Upper falls trail to reach Spruce Grove campground. When you reach the place where the two trails meet continue up the canyon. Next you will reach Cascade which has a picnic table and is a great place to rest. From Cascade it is a quick 25 minute hike to Spruce Grove Campground.
The cache is located right off the trail in the campground. No bush wacking required. Have a seat near the camp stove and you're close to the reward. Cache is not located in the stove. Please don't vandalize it.
Watch for muggles! Area is well hiked and used. Respect the land as well as the property of cabin owners in the canyon.
