This is known as "Meteorite Rock". It was used as a gathering place mainly for young people prior to the removal of people from Between the Rivers.
From a geological standpoint, this rock is gray sandstone and was formed at the bottom of a sea and is not from a galaxy far, far away. A real meteorite would be composed mainly of iron and other metals. If you look at the front of the rock, there are several holes and pock marks that resembles a meteorite. The semi- spherical hole probably once held a geode. Of interesting note are the massive iron pits near the road that are remnants of the iron industry in the mid 1800's.
You are looking for a round Lock and Lock container. This cache was hidden with the help of Big Dog Abbey.
