A straight forward dash to the cache (Pentland Hills style).
The cache is located at the head of Maiden's Cleuch. Which is the main walking/cycling route between the North & South sides of the Pentlands.
Supposedly Maiden's Cleugh is named after St Catherine in the Hope's. Where 'Hop' is an enclosed valley.
Parking for access to the cache can be at various sites.
Harlaw (NorthWest) is a 5 kms walk and has good parking, facilities are nearby. The return trip will take just over the hour.
Flotterstone (South) has good parking, facilities and a Pub, it has a slightly longer walk (and rise).
The cache has now been relocated away from the dry stane wall and new fence.
The cache is now out in the open and will require you put things back as you find them, especially for waterproofing reasons and camouflage purposes, this area is now very very popular and subtlety will be required to avoid nosey muggles wondering why you are where you are, doing what your doing!
