The Clyde River flows through the sleepy village of Hamilton.
This National Trust-classified town was originally laid out on a grand scale to be a major centre, but never developed beyond a small, sleepy village. Hamilton's historic buildings are spread out and there are excellent views of mountain ranges and peaks farther west.
